New year, new gallery, new show! In 2018, InLiquid is excited to lift up the curtains and reveal a major goal of ours for a long time and have finally achieved for the new year: our very own gallery space! The InLiquid Gallery is located on the first floor of Crane Arts, now only three floors down from InLiquid’s headquarters!
Coming up on January 11th, is the Second Thursday Opening Reception for New Now, the first exhibition of the year at The InLiquid Gallery. From 6-9pm, join us for art, wine, and light snacks as we showcase a broad selection of art from recently accepted InLiquid Members. Featuring over 40 artists that work in many mediums across many disciplines, New Now offers a unique cross-section of what local artists are creating right now.

Lara Cantu-Hertzler
“I’ve been drifting back and forth between representation and abstraction for over ten years. There’s a push and pull between making a perfect mark immediately and creating a deliberate accident that proves to be more interesting. I never copy what I see, my ultimate goal as an artist is to paint from within.”

“There is something striking and beautiful about the way humans have reconstructed their environments, especially in cities. On the flip side, these altered urban landscapes represent a human desire to transform, destroy, and exploit what was there before; it is an interesting dichotomy. This latest series of prints presents inverted skylines that are inspired by a boat trip on the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers. On this waterfront lie remnants of Philadelphia’s industrial past, which has overgrown in some places while other parts of this overlooked part of the city have been re-purposed.”

“Based on realism my paintings are an expressionistic view of my life. My experiences as a Yoga instructor as well as my personal Yoga practice have allowed my work to deepen & become more exploratory. Sensuous experiences, conflicts, and choices with which I am confronted and the desire to create my own experience and world are addressed in my paintings.”
Gerri Spilka
