InLiquid’s annual benefit and art auction is a two-week long celebration of creativity, creators, and collectors, which features an online auction of contemporary works by over 200 local artists who work across all media. March for Art distinguishes itself from typical charity auctions through its equitable approach in which proceeds are divided equally between InLiquid and participating artists, providing direct support to artists. This structure allows collectors to discover new work while contributing meaningfully to the creative economy.

March for Art Shop

Open through 3/1 — 3/31

The March for Art Shop transforms InLiquid’s gallery space into a curated retail experience featuring handmade jewelry, furniture, homewares, and clothing created by local artisans and craftspeople. This pop-up boutique, curated by Isabella Aimone, the Programming and Digital Collections Coordinator here at InLiquid, offers visitors an opportunity to purchase unique pieces directly from their makers. The shop operates throughout March for Art, and during the special events! Collectors and gift-seekers alike can explore a diverse selection of functional art and wearable pieces that reflect Philadelphia's vibrant craftwork.

About:

Sarah Montagnoli is a jeweler, metalsmith, and educator based in Philadelphia, PA. Since receiving her Masters, she has been teaching jewelry at her alma mater as well as at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. In her work, Montagnoli creates pillowed metal forms via hydraulic pressing that act as vessels for encapsulating fragments of herself and her past, to be rewritten or observed from a removed perspective. When not teaching or seated at her bench, she enjoys time with her cats, collecting small trinkets, and wandering in the rain.

Kara Hetz Jewelry

https://www.karahetz.com/

About:

Kara Hetz is a jewelry artist working in her Philadelphia studio. She earned her BFA from West Virginia University and her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago, both in Studio Arts. Making jewelry and working with metal was a post-graduate passion and she received her metalsmithing training primarily at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago.

“As a designer, I am continually exploring uncommon ways to present common forms. I am intrigued by the sensuality of metal--how the static becomes fluid and the ways the material can be infinitely transformed. I’m inspired by the interplay of the physical and the emotional and how we relate to the objects we keep. I aspire to create functional, beautiful and wearable pieces, external reminders of the things that we carry.”

The March for Art shop will be open throughout March for Art, presenting a curated selection of functional and wearable works by participating artists. The shop extends the exhibition experience by emphasizing the importance of craft and material practice within Philadelphia.
