InLiquid is inviting proposal submissions for the first holiday window installation at Old City Publishing, on view November to December 2022.
The holiday-themed installation will be in the showcase window at Old City Publishing in Northern Liberties. About the Space
Old City Publishing is dedicated to providing the international community with the latest research and developments in the sciences, technology, medicine, and the humanities.
Founded in 1995 by Dr. Ian Mellanby and Guy Griffiths, OCP is also a longtime supporter of the arts and InLiquid, featuring rotating window displays from a wide variety of artists and mediums throughout the year. Mellanby hails from the UK and has great love and nostalgia for the magic of holiday season he remembers from his childhood.
The installation space is roughly the shape of a cube with windows on two sides. It is approximately 58″ front to back x 55″ side to side x 70″ floor to transom. There is an additional 24″ above the transom to the ceiling. The space is accessed through a curtain at the back wall 55″ wide x 70″ high. There is space for pedestals, but any pedestals used would have to be on the shorter side to be visible from street-level. There are pre-existing hooks on the ceiling where work can be hung, but they aren’t weight bearing so pieces cannot be too heavy. We discourage adding additional nails or screws to the walls and ceiling.
