Stencil Pop Workshop with Alex Spalding

Join us in the Lower Level of the Towne Center at Park Towne Place from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, April 25th, for an exclusive workshop with PTP artist-in-residence Alex Spalding.
Stencils create edges, hard lines that define form. In this workshop with Alex Spalding, we'll explore how those boundaries interact with fluid paint, gesture, and surface. Participants will build up an image using loose brushwork and stencil, forming images that balance control and chaos, precision and instinct.
No previous experience is needed. All materials will be provided.
Limited to 10 attendees.
Please note that parking is not available on the Park Towne Place Campus. If you do require parking, metered parking is available on Park Towne Place Street and on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
About the Artist:
Alex Spalding (b. 1985, Springfield, MO) is a self-taught figurative painter specializing in vibrant, stylized portraiture of women. Drawing from his love for commercial illustration and contemporary art, he merges those influences with expressive techniques and the innovative use of technology.
“Through saturated color and graphic expression, I build images that are at once melodramatic and sincere, glamorized but emotionally unguarded.” - Alex Spalding
