Artist Statement

As an artist, my journey is fueled by a commitment to evoke emotions and provoke thought. My creations are not merely visual experiences; they are dialogues with the observer, designed to stir the soul and challenge perceptions. Rooted in the purity of white and the vibrancy of color, my art now breathes in three dimensions, embodying the essence of nature, the pulse of the universe, and the impact of human excess. Light is a central character in my narrative, manifested through the delicate dance of diluted inks and natural pigments that conjure ethereal auroras. My palette extends beyond the canvas, embracing mixed media to unlock new realms of imagination.

Inspiration is a mosaic of the world around me—a tapestry woven from diverse materials, evocative photographs, resonant music, and poignant texts. This collage of influences coalesces on my mood board, awaiting the moment they coalesce into art.

In partnership with Lenaic Gasquet Mercier, we channel our art to kindle introspection and a collective sense of accountability. We stand at a pivotal moment for climate action, and through our art, we offer a lens to view this global challenge from a fresh perspective, enhancing communication and understanding.

My advocacy transcends the confines of my studio, spilling into the broader community where I strive to inspire action. I engage in dialogues, exhibitions, and collaborations with other artists, leveraging the power of art to illuminate the path towards sustainability. As the world grapples with the pressing issue of climate change, my role as an activist artist is to contribute to the global conversation, to be a beacon of awareness, and to foster a legacy of reverence for the natural world.

Art is my calling—a manifestation of my love for nature and a fervent plea for its preservation. It is a journey that began in a humble garden and has blossomed into a lifelong crusade for the environment. Through my creations, I aspire to leave an indelible mark on the world, echoing the beauty of the earth and the urgency of its protection.

Climate Change Education

Her vision and profession are not the only things Climate change education in, with, and through art at Westby & Mercier Studio is intended for all of our works to be shared and presented at museums, galleries, schools, universities, public places, and embassies for private events or scientific publications. By better picturing climate change, Lenaic Gasquet Mercier and I hope to encourage deeper reflection and the development of a sense of responsibility. "We must change the climate before it changes us." This decade is decisive.

Conclusion
