Michel Delgado is deeply influenced by the creative, emotional, and spiritual experience of his upbringing in Senegal. A self-taught painter, his work is straightforward and personal, filled with self-reflexive and sometimes supernatural imagery. His work evokes a non-linear narrative rooted in everyday experience that becomes transcendent through the magic of anthropomorphism, fantasy, legend, and memory. He has exhibited his work widely internationally, and divides his time between Philadelphia and Miami.
