Artist Statement

Taking notice of every shadow, every texture, every contrasting color or shape, every face, every piece of light, every similarity, every difference, every example of surprising beauty in unexpected places is what I do. I try to show it, not tell it.

Bio

An artist/educator, teaching since 1975 in public schools first grade through high school, and now instructing in an adult educatioon program. Trying to share the thrill of creating art as well as discovering the history and purpose of art.

Temple University, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Program, Delaware Valley, PA
Created an en plein air course “Capturing Philadelphia”, a basic drawing class, and a photo/video editing class using iPhone or iPad technology.

1998 - 2014
Teacher of Gifted Education, Art, and Film, New Hope-Solebury School District, New Hope, PA

Established a middle and high school Gifted Education program which incorporated individualized projects, diverse course selections, experiential activities, and literary publications. Seven to nine-week daily classes introduced art history and skill development through group and independent projects. An after school Art Program further enriched the general population of creative students.
