Résumé

Artist Biography

In Memoriam
1972 - March 12, 2021
The Following is an article from mcgfuneral.com:
Kristin Osgood Lamelas was a Philadelphia born artist, currently living in New Jersey. Kris will be remembered as being a free spirited, genuine, selfless, caring, understanding and loving mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, friend and artist. She loved her family, creating art, teaching, nature and traveling. She loved life. She loved all of the little things and lived in the moment. Kris’ smile and enthusiasm for life was contagious to all who knew and loved her.
Kris earned her BFA and MFA from Moore College of Art and Design and an Art Education certification from Rowan University. She has traveled extensively and has studied classical painting at the Florence Academy of Art, Laguna College of Art, Studio Incamminati, Pennsylvania Academy of Art and SACI. She worked as a Graphic Design and Photography teacher in New Jersey for the past 18 years and was President of the Women's Caucus for Art for three years.
She donated a kidney to her father in 2011. Since then, her mixed-media paintings reference aerial views of specific landscapes and images of cells from her own body. In her most recent work, she was exploring the issue of how environmental toxins and climate change affect her body and the earth.
Loving wife of Jose Lamelas and beloved mother of Sophia Lamelas; devoted daughter of Barbara (Joynes) and the late Richard Osgood; devoted sister of Kathy Thistlewood (Jay) and Joanna Holland (Jack); cherished aunt of Joe, Nick, John, Jaclyn & Casey. She will forever be remembered by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, colleagues, students and friends.
