Artist Statement

Creating art is my way of expressing my being in the world. My goal is to reach something deeply felt in the collective imagination. Even against the losses of our times—climate change and the dangers it claims on our lives and future generations; violence perpetrated on the planet and each other—I ?ind I still must create works of awareness, renewal, and beauty.

I use the visual language of color, form, composition, movement, intuition, and happy accident to create something that touches the unconscious as well as the conscious mind. Using mixed media, including natural materials such as palm bark, has dominated my recent work. It adds dimensionality, texture and a sculptural quality that I enjoy and appreciate.

We still have much to cherish in our world. I hope to express that in my work.

Artist Biography

Pamela Tudor is a painter and mixed media artist. Her expressive paintings and sculptures investigate concerns about the destruction and beauty of our home planet. She uses recycled and found objects in her work. Her abstract paintings are often whimsical and colorful. After receiving an M.A. in Applied Psychology, she went to art school for four years at the Art Students League and the New York Studio School.  Pamela has shown at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Barnes Foundation, the Fairmount Waterworks, the Marriott at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, the Noyes Museum, the El Paso Museum of Art, and the Emerging Collector Gallery in NYC.  Her work is in private collections in NY, NJ, Philadelphia, Miami, and Los Angeles.
