I strive to be that light. My work reflects the investigation.

Artist Bio

Born 1975, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Allan Lane paints portraits of his subjects as a study of intrusive investigation, capturing the excess of candid facial expressions and emotions. Lane creates with acrylic paint on canvas, using broad, loose strokes balanced with definitive line work.

The subjects of Lane's paintings are family members, friends, or associates, from whom he willwork from a reference image. Lane regularly paints self-portraits, furthering the investigation ofhuman expression and emotions, often composing double or triple self-portraits.

Lane currently lives and works in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
