As the 2017 InLiquid Benefit approaches, we are excited to showcase the exclusive pieces to be sold at our silent auction. In preparation for our Main Event, we encourage our fellow philanthropists and art collectors to pay it forward by celebrating their current art collection in tandem with supporting their local arts organization.
If you’re a fan of the Femme Fatale, then Tango by Wendee Yudis may be the piece that will steal your heart at the 2017 Benefit. Sized at 24″ x 36,” Tango is a moody photo-silkscreen with acrylic paint on wood panels, in which Yudis illustrates questions about gender roles and societal expectations for women by mixing and matching images with text. As Yudis explains, “by juxtaposing various images, nuances are implied and tension is created to explore new meanings,” her work acts as a conversation starter. Meant to provoke thought, Tango, is an evocative (and provocative) addition to any art collection.
Wendee Yudis is an accomplished Serigraph Mixed Media Artist who received her BFA in Printmaking and Photography and MFA in Printmaking and Painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has traveled all over the world and studied archaeology at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, as well as photography at Richmond College in London. Since 1990’s, she has been exhibiting her paintings and prints in both solo and group shows at galleries in New York City, Chicago, and Philadelphia.
