Four flights of stairs up in a 100-year-old warehouse, Jennifer Baker creates her empowering paintings and beautiful sculptures in a high-ceiling fortress filled with giant windows that filter in the endless natural light.
It’s a dream come true—almost. The Northern Liberties neighborhood was once known for its rustic and artistic neighborhood filled with color, energy, and great views. Today, a new community is making its way in through giant townhomes right in front of Baker’s eyes. In response, she is documenting these changes not only from walking around the neighborhood but also from looking right outside her window as a perfect view of Philadelphia turns into a wall of gray siding.
