Abington Art Center is proud to present a call for submissions for our juried show: Nocturne: Artworks Exploring the Night
Nocturne: Artworks Exploring the Night is a juried exhibition inspired by Astra Lumina, our lighted night walk through our Sculpture Park. We are seeking works that convey the night light, winter evenings, the night sky and more.
The exhibition will take place in our Community Gallery from January 16th, 2026 - February 23rd, 2026. Artists are invited to submit 1 work of ready-to-hang art in any medium with the size limitation of 48” x 48”. Our Community Gallery offers artists at every stage of their career a low-cost opportunity to show their work in our gallery.
This exhibition will take place during the Astra Lumina light show, which brings approximately 2000 people through our galleries on a nightly basis.
This show will be juried and curated by our Gallery Manager, Amy Cook, and Gallery Director, Linda Johnson. Artists who are interested in submitting work MUST be 18 years of age or older.
Artwork Criteria:
2-Dimensional work
Ready to hang on the wall (wired in the back).
Explores the theme: Nocturne: Artworks Exploring the Night
No larger than 48” x 48

Submissions** will be accepted from: November 25th-December 17th, 2025
Submission fee: $10 Commission: 30% to AAC/ 70% to the artist
Notification of accepted/rejected works: December 18th, 2025
Shipped work must arrive by: January 6th, 2026
*In-person artwork drop off: January 13th, 2026, 9am-9pm
Opening Reception: January 16th, 2026, 6pm-8pm
Pick-up of unsold artwork: February 24th, 2026, 9am-9pm.
Shipped work will be returned the week of March 2nd, 2026
*Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years of age and older.
*All shipping costs are covered by the artist. Mailed work must include a return shipping label.*
* Submission images should be clear 150-300 ppi and saved with the artist's name and title of the work.
