Plein Air @ Party in the Park

Open call for local artists to participate in the first Schuylkill River Park Plein Air Event, a benefit for the Friends of the Schuylkill River Park happening this June 6, 2026.

This event offers an opportunity for artists to have their work showcased directly to the Schuylkill River Park community during the annual "Party in the Park." Feel free to share on your calendar, social media, newsletters, or emails as you see fit.

You are invited to be part of something extraordinary! Help celebrate the beauty of Schuylkill River Park at its first ever Plein Air event to be held on June 6.

Requirements for participation:

1. Standard size canvas/paper – up to 16” x 20”
2. Canvases and papers will be stamped at time of check-in between 9a and 10a. All work must be returned to the Markward Recreation Center between 1:30p and 3p.
3. One work may be submitted for exhibition.
4. Submitted works will be displayed inside Markward Recreation Center and sold as silent auction items during the “Party in the Park.” All proceeds will go to the Friends of Schuylkill River Park to support its work of beautifying and improving the park.
5. Unsold paintings must be claimed at the end of the event unless prior arrangements have been made with organizers.
6. Artists may capture any aspect of Schuylkill River Park.
7. No prize money will be awarded but a “People’s Choice” and “Artists’ Choice”
   acknowledgment will be made.
