Open Call to Artists: Queering Wood Craft
The Museum for Art in Wood is inviting artists and makers who work in wood—building furniture, turning, carving, or otherwise using wood as the primary material in their work—to submit their work for consideration for the upcoming exhibition, Queering Wood Craft (working title).
Guest curated by Deirdre Visser, this exhibition will be both an exploration and celebration of the dynamic intersections between contemporary work in wood and the multiple meanings of queer. We'll explore the history of this craft through a queer lens, making us visible to ourselves and rendering more complex understanding of queer lives, labor, and communal and familial relationships.
