FJORD Gallery is pleased to announce our 2026 Open Call!

Artists are invited to submit their work in consideration for two opportunities:

Group exhibition (August 22 - September 26, 2026)

Solo exhibition (May 8 - June 12, 2027)

Artists working in all media are encouraged to apply. The exhibitions will be curated by FJORD members; there is no specified theme. Artists outside of Philadelphia are welcome to apply, but will be responsible for shipping or delivering their work to and from the gallery.

Drop off/Delivery Dates*:

Group Show: Saturday , August 15, 2026

Solo Show: Saturday, May 1, 2027

Submission Guidelines

Please complete the following form and attach a single multi-page PDF containing the details below where prompted. Your submission does not need to represent a complete curatorial proposal to be considered for the solo show. Do not submit curatorial proposals for the group show.

Name your PDF using the following format:

LastName_FirstName_2026OpenCall.pdf

Maximum file size: 100MB

Submissions should include (in this order):    

- Up to 7 images or 4 videos (if submitting video, please include Vimeo/Youtube links)    

- Image list; please include title, year, dimensions, and media    

- Brief description of any specific technical or installation needs related to your work    

- Brief bio & statement on the work submitted (250 word max.)    

- Include a link to your website, if applicable    

- One page CVCost to ApplySubmission fee is $25, payable through PayPal.

Fjord is a 501(c)(3) mission-driven non-profit. Our programming is supported by our artist members, grants, and annual fundraisers, including the open call. Though fees collected through this open call help support Fjord's mission throughout the year, we understand the cost of open call submissions can be burdensome for many artists. Therefore we consider sliding scale fees; email info@fjordspace.com with your request before submitting this form. To avoid delays, contact us with sliding scale fee requests by Friday, June 12.

*Artwork must be shipped to the gallery by or dropped off on these dates. It is expected that work will be delivered ready to install with appropriate, professional hanging hardware and/or detailed installation instructions included. For more complicated installation requirements, Fjord is happy to coordinate with artists individually. Included works will be insured by Fjord for the duration of the exhibitions.
