Abington Art Center is excited to present a call for submissions for our 2026 Annual Juried Show: Black & White. Artists often lean into color as a primary way to express themselves, but what happens when color is removed from the equation? Black & White is a juried exhibition that invites artists to explore the depth of the achromatic spectrum—a limited palette that relies solely on black, white, and the gradations of gray between—and find new ways to evoke meaning through art in the absence of color.

How does working without color change your artistic approach? Do you feel that working without color is constrictive or do you feel that it is freeing? Why?

Artists are invited to submit up to 3 black and white works by February 8th to the following form. Eligible media include painting, drawing, fiber art, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and mixed-media practices. Works featuring any color outside of the achromatic color spectrum will not be accepted.

Eligible Artists must be 18 years of age or older.

Submissions should be good resolution photos (150-300 ppi) including the title of the work, year of creation, dimensions (framed if applicable), media, and name of the artist. Please include a statement that addresses at least one of the prompted questions above.
