This exhibition will present a survey of contemporary photo media in all aspects and genres of photography, film, video, and moving image. This is an open theme exhibition without restrictions on content that will include still images, film, video, and moving images. Accepted entries must be original, completed within the last 5 years, and not previously exhibited in The Clara M. Eagle Gallery. This exhibition will be on view from September 7 - October 17, 2023 in The Clara M. Eagle Gallery at Murray State University.

Eligibility

Entry is open to regional, national, and international artists 18 years or older working in all photo media including, but not limited to, traditional black and white or color photography, experimental or non-traditional light sensitive processes, digital media, film, video, and moving image. Accepted entries must be original, completed within the last 5 years, and not previously exhibited in The Clara M. Eagle Gallery. All entries must be submitted for the jurying process on the callforentries.org website. Entries emailed directly to the gallery will not be considered.

Juror Bio

Frances Jakubek is an image-maker, independent curator, and consultant for artists. She is the co-founder of A Yellow Rose Project, past Director of Bruce Silverstein Gallery in New York City, and past Associate Curator of the Griffin Museum of Photography in Massachusetts. Recent curatorial appointments include Critical Mass, Filter Photo, The Griffin Museum of Photography, British Journal of Photography, Les Rencontres d’Arles, Save Art Space, and Photo District News. Jakubek has been a panelist for the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Photography fellowships, speaker for SPE National, and lecturer for the School of Visual Arts Masters of Photography i3 Lecture Series. Personal works have been exhibited at The Southern Contemporary Art Gallery in Charleston, SC; Filter Space, Chicago; Camera Commons in Dover, NH; and The Hess Gallery at Pine Manor College, MA.CatalogAn exhibition catalog is planned to be produced with reproductions of work by all accepted artists. All accepted artists will receive a PDF digital copy after it has been created.

Awards

Monetary and merit awards will be given at the discretion of the juror. (up to $2,000 in monetary awards.)
