Glen Foerd will be accepting one regional visual artist (or artist collective) to complete a site-specific work during their residency.

The selected artist will receive a $3,000 artist stipend. Once selected, the Artist-in-Residence will have from February 1st, 2024, until September 30th, 2024, to complete their residency. The selected artist will create works that engage Glen Foerd’s audience and collections, which includes architecture, material culture, art, and natural landscapes.

This opportunity offers area artists unprecedented access to Glen Foerd’s historic collections, grounds, and the Delaware River and allows each artist to challenge dominant historical narratives by focusing on issues such as environmental conservation, wealth inequality, race, and industrialization, among other contemporary social issues. Outcomes are open-ended and must include a public engagement component. Examples of public engagement include the following: exhibitions, gallery talks, and hands-on workshops that provide an entry point for new audience members to visit Glen Foerd. Artists will have access to and are encouraged to engage with Glen Foerd's community partners, a process that will be facilitated by Glen Foerd’s staff.

If you are interested in learning more about Glen Foerd and touring the Main House and grounds, you are invited to attend our Open Houses for artists.

Open House dates will be:

Saturday, September 30th from 2pm - 4pm

Friday, October 6th from 10am - 12pm

Saturday, October 14th from 10am - 12pm

No RSVP is required to attend an Open House.
