InLiquid is your DIRECT connection to curators, patrons, and the public at large. Since 1999, InLiquid has served as a major promotional asset and supporter for artists to further their careers. Membership creates strong connections to build and sustain your career and can provide exhibition opportunities through exposure to audiences in Philadelphia and internationally.

In the digital age, having your name stand out can be difficult among the myriads of artist websites already out there. You may already have your own website, but when you join our artistic community, your visibility increases alongside our network. From our website that attracts over 107,000 unique viewers a year, to our newsletter that goes out to 9,500 subscribers, and over 24,500 contacts across our social media pages, InLiquid gets your name out there!

Visual artists, designers, and curators working in any media, at any stage of their career, and from any location may apply. Applications will be reviewed on the basis of merit and professionalism of presentation. Meet the Art Advisory Committee here.

Member Benefits

An extensive online portfolio page on InLiquid.org with credentials, artist statements, contact information, and links to your personal site.

We will list the Gallery as contact for those artists who are represented by a gallery and must do so to honor their contracts.*
All images and text are highly searchable to a worldwide audience through search engines such as Google.
Every year, InLiquid holds an exhibition in their gallery for their newest members. This show, New Now, gives all new members (who joined within a specified 12 month period) the opportunity to be shown in the InLiquid Gallery at Crane Arts.

Your creative activities promoted on our website & via our newsletter of over 9,500 subscribers, as well as member news posts on our Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Opportunity to submit proposals for exhibitions at various InLiquid venues.
An exclusive profile on our Artsy page, where your ready-to-sell work will be available to collectors from around the world. Works on your Artsy page are sold exclusively through InLiquid.

Another avenue for selling work is Shop InLiquid, which was launched in 2020 as an alternative to the annual Art for the Cash Poor and has expanded to become a hub for purchasing accessible and local original art online.

FAQ

In what format should I submit my images, and how many images should I submit?

‍Please submit 10-15 JPGs for a Basic Membership, and 25-30 images for the Premium Membership. JPGs are the preferred image file to submit, please do not submit TIFs or HEIC files.

We ask for the highest resolution you have, so please no screenshots or photos taken on your phone.

Image size for the website; width should be 100 dpi, 2000 pixels wide at the least.

If you are a video artist, please submit the videos as YouTube or Vimeo links so they may be embedded in your page.

Am I guaranteed an exhibition?

‍All new members will be given the opportunity to exhibit in the InLiquid Gallery in a new member exhibition, New Now. Solo and additional group exhibitions are not guaranteed to members.
How do I write an artist bio or statement?

Do the works I submit for my artist portfolio need to be for sale?

‍Works you submit do not need to be for sale, but should represent your strongest body of work. If you are interested in adding works to Artsy, Shop InLiquid, or InLiquid’s consulting database, InLiquid takes a 40% commission through the facilitation of sales. Pricing should be consistent with any other venue in which you have shown.
Do I need to live in the Greater Philadelphia area to be an InLiquid member?

‍InLiquid has had members from around the US and around the world. Living in the Greater Philadelphia area is not a requirement for applicants. Please keep in mind that when participating in the New Now exhibition and any other opportunities that may arise, you would be responsible for transporting/shipping your works to InLiquid’s office in Philadelphia.
