I am a Trash Bash Ambassador at RAIR which is one of my favorite organizations. You might be familiar with RAIR, a nonprofit arts organization, or co-founder Billy Dufala. RAIR, situated within a commercial recycling facility in Northeast Philadelphia, challenges the perception of waste culture by providing a unique platform for artists at the intersection of art, industry and the environment. RAIR offers artists professional support, studio
space and access to more than 650 tons of materials per day.

Since its inception RAIR has:
● Developed and sustained a high bar on its flagship residency program
● Hosted over 85 artists since the residency and fellowship programs were initiated and worked with
countless community groups and institutional partners.
● Piloted a circular economy initiative, diverting materials from the waste stream, while partnering with
neighborhood-based organizations serving under-resourced communities.

RAIR is hosting the 12th Annual Trash Bash event on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 5:30 PM at Atelier Art Gallery, 1301 N. 31st Street, Philadelphia, PA 19121. I thought the event might be right up your alley.

There is a great vibe of people who care about art and the environment, as well as delicious food, beverages and an incredible silent art auction.
