Exhibits & Events

Beginning July 16, InLiquid will be providing original content for two hours, once a week, on the Media Wall at Commerce Square, a 22’x16′ digital screen in a public square at 2001 Market St. The content will be screened during Center City District Sips, a center-city wide happy hour and appetizer menu, from 5 – 7 pm on select Wednesday nights through August 27 ..
The two hour compilation contains explorations into the mediums of photography, video, and new media, examining what is made possible by developing technology and increased access to complex programming and information. The artists’ interest in high-tech processing is evident in the varied techniques of recording and manipulating images. Some used the digital processes
to build narratives, while others, driven by a fascination with error and glitching, created abstract pieces.
Featured artists:
Jeff Brown is a multimedia artist based in Philadelphia. His current work in digital media has evolved from over two decades of commercial work in computer graphics and a compelling interest in examining the intersections of real and virtual life. His art blends video, photography, computer animation, programming, and CNC output.
Juggling Wolf is a multidisciplinary collective, dedicated to creating video and animation that is technically challenging, and visually rewarding. The team frequently mixes various techniques, from stop motion and traditional animation, to high-end digital compositing.
Mark Havens is a photographer based in Philadelphia. His work has exhibited nationwide. IN addition to his studio practice, he teaches at Philadelphia University. Out Of Season is a sprawling series of photographs taken over seven years exploring Wildwood, NJ in its off season. The photographs examine mid-century modernist architecture, parking lots, and signs, much of which have since been demolished. Utterly absent of human presence, yet still fully furnished and fully lit, Out of Season offers a captivating, bizarre, and nostalgic documentation of a thin slice of time.
Leo Hylan is a multi-media artist living in Annapolis Maryland. Hylan’s abstract videos deconstruct the familiar and emphasize chance and error. The result allows for a multifaceted and open-ended interpretation of visual phenomena.
TangenT is a Philadelphia-area collaborative dedicated to mixed-media, project-based, immersive art environments exploring socially relevant and politically current themes.
Members include William Cromar, Yvonne Love and Gabrielle Russomagno.
