Join us at the SCC Glass Education Center on Sunday, March 1st for a Glass Open House Event!

Admission to the Glass Education Center and the sale is free! The Glass Sale will feature handmade glass including jewelry, vases, paperweights, glass flowers, ornaments, and other glass gift items from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

While visiting the center, guests may tour the glass studios, view our glass collections, and watch glassmaking in action! Visitors will also have the opportunity to view the exhibition, “Playtime!”, an exhibition celebrating humor, playfulness, failure, and joy in art-making.

Also on March 1st, the Glass Education Center will be running several hands-on glassmaking workshops. No glass experience is necessary, but please note minimum age requirements for each experience. Fused Night Lights, 1.5-hour session from 12:30 - 2:00pm or 2:30 - 4:00pm, $50.00 per person - Participants will create their own beautiful, one-of-a-kind fused glass night light by layering pieces of flat glass and enamels and heating them in a kiln. Flameworked Frit Pendants (Hanging Focal Beads), 3-hour session from 1 - 4pm, $60.00 per person - Spend a full three hours in our flameworking studio using glass, heat, gravity and simple tools to create your very own colorful glass pendants at the torch! Each participant will have enough time to create multiple pendants. Hot Glass Paperweight, 1.5-hour sessions between 12:00 - 1:30pm, or 2:30 - 4:00 pm, $70.00 - Participants will create a colorful hot glass paperweight from the furnace in our glassblowing studio!

The Glass Education Center is located at Salem Community College, 460 Hollywood Ave., Carneys Point, NJ at parking lot A.
