Natural Dye Workshop: Mellow Yellows and Glorious Goldens
Join artist Rebecca Kelly for a natural dying workshop at Mad Lavender Farm in Milford, NJ.
Using barks, cones and seasonal flowers, we will dye organic cotton AND silk bandanas! We will also play with the petals used in the dye process by steaming and pounding them into cotton rag papers. You will come away with a botanically dyed 21 1/2″ Habatoi silk bandana and Maiwa organic cotton 23″ square bandana.
Enjoy a leisurely walk where we will gather materials grown on the farm for your dye practice! The workshop includes discussion of the natural dye process on cellulose fabric and how to make natural watercolors from your leftover dye baths.
Sip lavender lemonade and taste lovely cookies as you chat with your fellow creatives!
