This Fall, as the culmination of her CFEVA Visual Artist Fellowship, artist Mary Henderson, has transformed CFEVA's gallery into a satellite studio! We invite you to come and take a peek at Mary’s remarkable paintings, and experience her creative process. In addition, Mary will feature her new project, Commons.
Commons features miniature paintings, scaled to the size of a hand, that are set in West Philadelphia’s iconic Clark Park, steps away from the artist's home. Inspired in part by the Parisian park and garden-party paintings of French Impressionist painting, the work imagines this public square as a kind of everyday utopia.
Closing reception and book launch party: Saturday, October 21, 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
