Exhibits & Events

Artist and InLiquid member, Beau McCall is one of the featured artists in the new exhibition, "Flaunt: When Appearance Speaks." The exhibition celebrates how we express ourselves through adornment.

McCall's work on view explores the significance of flaunting, buttons, and the color blue within the Black experience. McCall's presentation titled "Black and Blue" is composed of multiple elements including wearable art from his "Blue" series, visual artwork including his "Jar of Buttons" site-specific installation and collage "Blue," along with oral history recordings mining the work’s themes. Through these works, McCall demonstrates how buttons and the color blue have served as tools of flaunting, empowerment, and inspiration throughout Black history.
