Cerulean Arts is pleased to present By the Light of the Moon featuring nocturnal artworks by Linda Dubin Garfield, Laura Maze, Dan Miller and Martha Wirkijowski. Inspired by images from the James Webb Space Telescope, Linda Dubin Garfield’s recent mixed media works on paper capture the grandeur of the starry sky. Her work expresses an appreciation for natural beauty and a concern for its preservation. Based in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Laura Maze creates fanciful landscapes in acrylic paint and shimmering metallic leaf.  Her rich imagery develops through manipulating layers of color, shapes, and patterns and is triggered by imagination and emotions of the moment. The ebb and flow of the natural world is integral to the work of Dan Miller, master printmaker and longtime PAFA professor. His woodcut prints are inspired by the forest and wildlife of the Maine and Pennsylvania landscapes. Martha Wirkijowski prioritizes atmosphere, form and shadow in her luminous nightscapes. The dramatic use of color and light intensifies her subject, creating a mysterious narrative in her oil paintings.
