Exhibits & Events

InLiquid and Park Towne Place Museum District Residences welcome you to join artists Tim McFarlane and Kathleen Shaver for an interactive discussion of their works. McFarlane and Shaver are both featured in Park Towne’s permanent collection.
Tim McFarlane’s is a Philadelphia-based visual artist focusing on painting and works on paper. His work examines the fluid nature of memory, time, place, and identity, with an emphasis on color, multi-layered systems and process, exemplified by “Chrysalis” in Park Towne’s collection. Currently a Professor of Painting at the Tyler School of Art at Temple, his works are featured in collections throughout the country.
Kathleen Shaver’s is a Philadelphia painter who studied at Moore College of Art & Design and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. A lush paint application and lively gestural strokes characterize her recent paintings, which often exhibit a highly textured surface and dense buildup of pigment. Her work has been exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and at other regional museums and collections. Paintings ‘Visiting Monet’ and ‘Rose Bed’ are in the Park Towne collection.
A reception with refreshments will begin at 6:00 PM, with the artist talk beginning at 6:30 PM.
