Studio 105 at Ray Philly is pleased to present an artist talk with sculptor and metal fabricator Brent Howard!

Brent Howard has spent two decades making metal for some of the biggest names in art. He was Louise Bourgeois's personal fabricator for ten years, casting her monumental spiders, and has built work for artists like Yoko Ono, Nari Ward, and David Byrne. Most recently, he was welding supervisor on the Starship launch tower at SpaceX.

For eleven years, Howard taught and directed the wood and metal shops at the Yale School of Art, where he served as Sculpture Professor and Critic. That teaching practice continues to shape how the studio works — material literacy first, drawing as thinking, the bench as the place where ideas are tested.

He'll share stories from his favorite projects and open the floor for questions. Come spend an evening with one of Philly's most interesting makers.
