InLiquid is your DIRECT connection to curators, patrons, and the public at large. Since 1999, InLiquid has served as a major promotional asset and supporter for artists to further their careers. Membership creates strong connections to build and sustain your career and can provide exhibition opportunities through exposure to audiences in Philadelphia and internationally.

InLiquid is your DIRECT connection to curators, patrons, and the public at large and is a utilized source for designers, art consultants, and curators seeking talent.

In the digital age, having your name stand out can be difficult among the myriads of artist websites already out there. You may already have your own website, but when you join our artistic community, your visibility increases alongside our network. From our website that attracts over 107,000 unique viewers a year, to our newsletter that goes out to 9,500 subscribers, and over 24,500 contacts across our social media pages, InLiquid gets your name out there!

Visual artists, designers, and curators working in any media, at any stage of their career, and from any location may apply. Applications will be reviewed on the basis of merit and professionalism of presentation. Meet the Art Advisory Committee here.

  • An extensive online portfolio page on InLiquid.org with credentials, artist statements, contact information, and links to your personal site.

    We will list the Gallery as contact for those artists who are represented by a gallery and must do so to honor their contracts.*
  • All images and text are highly searchable to a worldwide audience through search engines such as Google.
  • Every year, InLiquid holds an exhibition in their gallery for their newest members. This show, New Now, gives all new members (who joined within a specified 12 month period) the opportunity to be shown in the InLiquid Gallery at Crane Arts.

FAQ

  • What do I need to apply for membership?

    For your application, you should have prepared the following files:
    Selected JPG images
    Corresponding Image List
    Artist CV/ Resume
    Artist Bio
    Artist Statement
    Social Media Account Links

  • Is there an application fee?

    No, there is no cost to apply for membership. Once you are notified of acceptance you will be provided instructions for payment.

    Initial payment is required before we create your portfolio page.  
  • Payment Plans

    InLiquid, understands the need to have flexible payment options, allowing for Payment Plans. More details are in the member guide.
  • What image file format should I use?

    Submitted images should be JPG files, do not send screenshots or a PDF presentation document of your work.
  • What size should my images be?

    We request files be at least 2500 pixels on the long edge of submitted images and should be no lower than 72 dpi. Note: it is easier for us to size down an image file than size up.
    • Can I submit images from my cell phone?

      All work samples should be of professional image quality, in focus, with background distractions cropped out and without glare.
    • Can I submit a video?

      Yes, know that YouTube links work best. InLiquid has a YouTube channel where we can host short-length reels for posting as a featured video or as links.
    • Am I guaranteed an exhibition?

      All new members will be given the opportunity to exhibit in the InLiquid Gallery in the new member exhibition, New Now, unless they are a returning member who has exhibited in New Now within the past 5 years.
    • How can I exhibit my work?

      Solo and additional group exhibitions are not guaranteed to members, but you can submit an exhibition proposal at any time. Proposals may include bodies of work that are in progress or completed, and do not need to be fully finalized exhibition proposals. Proposal Submission form.
    • Do the works I submit for my artist portfolio need to be for sale?

      Works you submit for your artist member portfolio page do not need to be for sale; however, works submitted to Artsy, Shop InLiquid, or the InLiquid Consulting Database should be available for sale. Alert PROGRAMMING@InLiquid.org if the status of a piece changes. InLiquid uses Fair Market Value for listing prices. InLiquid’s standard commission for the facilitation of sales is 40% and pricing should be consistent with any other venue in which you have shown.
    • Do I need to live in the Greater Philadelphia area to be an InLiquid member?

      You do not have to live in the area to join InLiquid. Please keep in mind that when participating in the New Now the new member exhibition and any other opportunities, you are responsible for transporting or shipping your works to InLiquid’s office at 1400 N American Street, Suite 314, Philadelphia, PA 19122.
