Résumé

Artist Statement

During my studies, I laid huge emphasis on anatomy knowledge. It has a strong tradition with Jeno Barcsay, who created the most modern anatomy atlas for artists of his epoch. I studied the classic European painting techniques, materials thoroughly, spending a lot of times with restorers. The result of the lot of experimentation is my always changing material usage – in the last couple of years a unique oil-tempera mix - a modern version of the great masters’ paints.
Representation of humans is the cornerstone of my art. I’m drawing a lot, never use a projector – although most of my paintings based on my own photos. The most pertinent attribute of my work told by my master, Lajos Svaby (former president of University of Fine art Budapest, professor of Kingston University London) – I am a psycho-genre painter. I am telling stories to people about people beyond words, without the need of shoreless explanations. With gestures, colors, and faces I create a metaphysical world.
