Based on the premise that everyone can be an art collector, InLiquid’s 19annual summer art sale, Art for the Cash Poor, returns this year with some exciting changes! With construction happening at Crane Arts, Art for the Cash Poor has been moved to the Callowhill District in partnership with Arts + Crafts Holdings.
The Main Event, which is an outdoor, block-party style art sale that directly benefits visual artists and craftspeople, will be Saturday, June 16 from Noon-6pm. A festival celebrating the original art of Philadelphia, at Art for the Cash Poor, there will be multiple spaces along 10th Street from Buttonwood to Hamilton Streets activated by artists and local organizations, all of whom are selling affordable work priced at $199 and under.
Each year, Art for the Cash Poor features booths from a variety of different artists, with work ranging from paintings, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, and wearable fashion. Attendees get to show off their unique taste, where they can take home something they love and can’t get anywhere else–and brag about it, too.
What’s more, is that this festival is a one-of-a-kind event where visitors can speak with artists firsthand about their process, inspiration, and above all: find their niche within the Philadelphia arts scene. Not only is it a great opportunity for artists new and old to share their work with the public, but it is also a chance for collectors to discover what kind of art speaks to them and their experiences.
Good news for artists: If you would like to participate in Art for the Cash Poor and join InLiquid for a fun, summer event,  just a few vendor applications are still open! Apply before spaces fill! https://inliquid.org/aftcp/apply-aftcp/
You can also join our team, and get behind the scenes of the event by volunteering! Take on cool jobs in which you get to hang in the VIP tent with bands, snap event photos to be published on the site, and execute your skills in strategy and building during set-up and breakdown.
