The Autumn Society of Philadelphia explores the impact of
Japanese pop culture on contemporary American culture
Cross-cultural references and fertile imaginations carry
the day in this exuberant exhibition featuring works by ten
members of "The Autumn Society of Philadelphia",
a group of artist-illustrators who delight in appropriation
and re-invention of pop culture.
Artists include: Jude Buffum, Matt Cavanaugh, Ray Chase,
Eamon Doughtery, Alex Eckman-Lawn, Joseph Game, Maryann Held,
Anthony Pedro, Jaclyn Sinquett, Tom Whalen
About the Gallery
AxD is a contemporary visual arts gallery dedicated
to showcasing original works of painters, illustrators, photographers,
sculptors, and multimedia performers who seek to be "of
our time." Proprietor Edward A. Barnhart also owns Always
by Design Architects and Designers, located directly behind
the gallery. |
