Judith Stein

This archive contains critical writings and catalogue essays by independent curator, critic, and Pew fellow Judith Stein, as well as essays and documentation on shows Stein curated while director of Morris Gallery at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (1981 - 95), which included several major traveling exhibitions. Among her independent curatorial projects was Picturing the Modern Amazon at the New Museum of Contemporary Art. Stein is a former art reviewer for National Public Radio, a frequent contributor to Art in America, and the author of an upcoming book on the Barnes Foundation.
